No…sunshine.

Things get quite lonley around the house…when sunshine visiting her Dad.

No laughing & giggling

No yelling

No bedtime prayers together

No constant reminders of do your homework

No “eewww get away from me because you smell like the neighbors dogs”

No “you cant just eat chicken nuggets and Macaroni & Cheese forever” or “why nots”

No “get back in the shower and wash your hair…dont just wet it”

No reminders that “you HAVE to remember to wear a bra every day”

No rushing to get to guitar lessons or a football game

No “Mom, thats not how that cheer goes…”

No playing tag in the back yard

No planning our trip to Hawaii

No making creative messes together

No conversations about her new found boobies and those “OTHER” similar girly talks

No making an argument of “Mom I have one pair of shoes, why do you think  I  need more”

No dancing around like we are the best dancers on Dancing with the Stars or So you think you can dance

I am blessed with an amazing & talented daughter…

So, good times or not so good times…everything is better when sunshine is home.

Creative lil Cheerleaders

Saturday we painted run thru banners for the Future Panther Titan Football team. We all had a blast, broke for a giggle fest they called lunch and back to painting. We started at 9am and finished by 2. An over all great day.

This is Sunshine painting…she is in her happy place.

What a mess! :)  This is a few of our cheerleaders, a parent and my Sunshine.

Titan Power!  This is mine & Sunshines work. Lets Go Titans!!!

Aloha Sunshine

Sometime back in 2008 Sunshine {age 8} got it in her head that the most magical place on earth was not Disney’s Magic Kingdom…but indeed HAWAII.

I’ve no clue where the idea came from but Sunshine {about to be age 10} has been saving EVERY cent in a big jug that she can earn, beg, borrow & steal for a vacation to Hawaii. I even add $$ to it for her when she isn’t looking.

Sunshines birthday is looming {May 9th} So I asked Sunshine where did she want to have her birthday party this year she said  HAWAII!!!  Her reasoning for this was because it is WAY BETTER THAN CHUCK-E-CHEESE! {That we can agree on kiddo!}

So Hawaii is out of the question for her birthday but we still have  (a) Chuck-e-Cheese  (b) Playtime Pizza  (c) Museum of Discovery.

I’d really like to do something different this year…so I’ve not agreed to any of the above just yet.

As for our big vacation to Hawaii…I’m thinking of taking her at Christmas. shhhhh!

my sunshine

Competition season is over for us and it’s been lots of fun!

Soccer is now our time consumer as well as back handspring practices.

May let her cheer for the Future Panthers, not certain if we will have time but if we do, then she can if she still wants to.

a wee bit-o-sunshine goes a long long way!

Sunshine had a Valentine Cheer party at Party Central. It’s an indoor place where kids and adults (if you like) can bounce around in or slide down giant blown up plastic knee and elbow burners!

inflated slide

All these little girls running around fueled up on cupcakes and on sugar disguised as “100% juice”. There was great fun to be had!  I could not sit by and let these wee ones have all the fun, so I joined in! We chased each other over, under and around all 70ft of the inflated obstacle course. Bounced till there was no more bounce left (in me) and burned each knee & elbow on the super slides. In some cases (sunshine included) there was even a whole worn or torn in pants on one knee or the other. How do you tear a hole in a pair of pants you have worn twice??? Why simple! Play Hard!!!

Most parents sat and watched the action from the sidelines while the coaches, myself and a grandmother (yes, and over 55 by a mile!) played with the girls.

obstacle course

Midway through the party Sunshine managed to drag a few more bounces out of me. A game of bouncing-Tag pursued and I apparently was the monster that the girls were running from. Then they all turned on me taking me down down down! Once I was back up on my feet… here came sunshine opened armed and ready to tackle. I’m talking full body contact! I went down with her attached in bear hug mode she looked up at me with this smile and said…

Your The BEST Mom in the world.

That comment with her huge honest smile will carry me for a long time…making the burned elbows and knees all worth while.

what a boob!

I sit here shaking my head still… The things she can come up with. Her questions to herself must have been “What to do with these balloons” OR “ Just how can I make my mom laugh tonight”.

The picture tells all!!! (nice hair btw! She had been playing hard!)ansleyballon.gif

This is a picture of her with her crooked Hannah Montana cap I got for her while I was at Disney Downtown in Anaheim last week.

The bottom inset photo is her Self-Portrait!

sunshine luvs swift tunes

Taylor Swift

Sunshine loves Taylor Swift tunes almost as much as Hannah Montana or those tweenie songs by the HSM Cast!

Over and over I’ve had to listen to “Our Song” so that sunshine could learn the song lyrics and sing along. Which is cute I might ad!
I’ll try to catch it on video (at her age.. its hard to get staged video…easier to do hidden camera!!!) <insert evil laugh here>

She is currently in the office with me telling me all about the Naked Brothers Band (a nickelodeon show… no they are not naked & honestly I’m not certain why its called that) & their dog is farting… followed by her giggling & shaking her rear to… you guessed it..“Our Song” while sporting her new Hannah Montana t-shirt!

geesh!

There’s been no Sunshine blogging!

I know, I know, I know…the blogging has been neglected. I hope to be back on track and posting more often this year!

Here are a few updates:
Sunshine has another loose tooth…making this her second loose tooth.

Her Christmas was great. She is very happy with everything!

The eXtreme Cheer Squad took 2nd place at Cheer Zone Star Search Competition and first place at the last competition, one that I cant remember the name of held at Barton.

Sad news: eX-Cheer Squad lost one of their cheer sisters (Presley, shown below on the right) to a broken toe.

Sunshine is happy with the recent purchase of the family car a Grand Cherokee, I’m not too sold on it just yet. I miss my Xterra for many many reasons.
